Description
The horizontal electrophoresis apparatus by Walter Products was designed with safety and convenience in mind. The injection-molded UV transparent chamber is made from thick acrylic, making it durable and leak-proof while the lid fits securely in place and can easily be removed. Units feature adjustable leveling feet, recessed electrical wires, and a safety stop that prevents the gel from running when the cover is not securely fitted. Each casting tray with embossed gel ruler has rubber end caps and multiple slots for easy and versatile comb placement. The included kit (MBII24HS) is a 2-part exercise that provides an introduction to agarose gel electrophoresis.
This unit requires 500mL of buffer and a power supply.

Features
- Electrodes are locked together at the power supply end to prevent incorrect placement
- Chamber has two knobs at both ends that protrude through the cover to assist in removal of lid
- Raised tabs located on diagonal corners of the casting tray allow for easy, safe insertion and removal from chamber
- Casting trays have a grey strip to contrast between the wells and agarose to allow for easy dye loading
- Casting trays are etched with a positive/negative sign at each end and have a frosted strip that matches up with the chamber to ensure correct placement
- Cover must be placed correctly or it will not fit properly and unit will not work
- Corrosion-resistant platinum wires are removable and can be replaced if needed
