Description
Following electrophoresis, the transfer system is used to move proteins or nucleic acids out of a gel and onto a solid membrane. The transfer process is accomplished by “sandwiching” the gel and membrane with filter paper between two electrodes and applying an electric field perpendicular to the gel.
This unit requires 500mL of buffer and a power supply.
Features
- Transfer up to two 7 x 9cm gels simultaneously
- Fast transfer time of 20-40min
- Colour coded transfer clips (cassettes) and electrodes to ensure proper orientation on gel transfer
- Strong injection-molded, high-transparency polycarbonate tank that is corrosion resistant
- Tank can be placed in an ice bath to assist cooling the gel in rapid transfers
Unit Includes:
- (1) Electrophoresis tank with cover and power leads
- (2) Gel holder transfer clips (cassettes)
- (1) Trans-blot module for holding transfer clips
- (1) Set of transfer sponges
- (1) Set of transfer filter paper
