Description
A guiro tone block is a dual-purpose percussion instrument that combines a resonant wooden tone block with the ribbed scraping surface of a traditional güiro. Strike the smooth part of the block with the mallet head to produce a sharp, deep, and resonant percussive click or scrape the handle of the mallet back and forth across the grooved ridges to create a textured, ratchet-like rasp sound.
